Linkin Park were every teenage boy's favourite band in the early 2000s, and those now grown up boys turned out in force for Linkin Park's Monday night concert at Rod Laver Arena.
For the ladies out there, if you are on the hunt for a potential husband I would highly recommend heading to a Linkin Park concert. I would guess that the audience was 75% male, probably rising to about 90% on the floor. Those are good odds if you are looking to pick up.

Surprisingly there were also a number of families in attendance, mainly with young sons. It seems that Linkin Park still strikes a chord with the young boys of the world.
Linkin Park have had a lot of hits over the years, and most of them made appearances throughout the night. The crowd went absolutely crazy over songs like 'In The End' and 'Breaking The Habit'. They also performed a lot of songs from their latest album 'A Thousand Suns'.

New song 'Waiting For The End' is a bit of a departure from Linkin Park's usual loud, screaming style, with it's almost reggae undertones. It was a definite highlight of the night, with the crowd singing along to every word.
The hardcore fans were loving every moment of the concert, and singers Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington seemed to be enjoying it just as much as the crowd were. There was a lot of fist pumping and arm waving from the mosh pit, although those in the seats were a bit more subdued.
The graphics on the screen meshed with a live stream of the band on the stage, creating some interesting and distorted images. There were also times when the stage was covered in smoke, broken through only by spotlights. This definitely heightened the performance and added to the experience.
Linkin Park delivered a great performance, which their hardcore fans definitely seemed to appreciate. They still have a couple of Australian dates left on their 'Thousand Suns Tour', so if you were a fan when you were a teen, or if you are a lady looking to meet a nice man in the crowd, maybe you should head on over and check them out.
